Zodiac star fragments are a crafting material that can be found along the shore of the player's island the day after a meteor shower. If successful, the star will flash brighter and a "ping" can be heard. Star fragment and other item trees are floating around, the screenshots aren't fake. If you use your right joystick to turn the camera skyward, you can watch for shooting stars streaking across the night sky. Star fragments are basically what fall to earth during a meteor shower in Animal Crossing when you wish on a star. To make a wish, the player must be looking up with an empty hand and press the "A" button as a star streaks by. In order for star fragments to appear, the player must make a wish. With the Museum Day event starting tomorrow, I imagine there will be a patch later today.
